Hollingrove Stud once again enjoyed considerable success participating in both the AWHA and HHSA National Inspection Tours 2016.Our ET Furstenball x Dream of Romance (imp, dec) brown filly foal received a Gold award from the AWHA assessors and also a Top Twelve award from the Hanoverians. HG Steinbeck and Sophia both won their age groups and HG Saffron was the highest percentage Victorian ridden horse.

In July we travelled to Europe to attend the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, Netherlands. This was a great event-well run, in beautiful grounds and a multitude of fantastic young horses! We then drove to Germany to visit our mare Destina ,then on to Verden for their Championships and Hewart von der Decken Hanoverian mare show. It was great to catch up with our good friends Emma Jane Blundell, Dave and Lynn Crowden, Emmy de Jeu, Bernhard Menke and his beautiful partner Anna, Josef Wilmes. It was also fun to catch up with the many Aussies in Europe-spectating and horse buying! These young horse events, as well as the imput from our European breeder friends, are vital for making informed choices of stallions to use over our mares in the coming season.

Hollingrove Dami and Rianna Percy
Back home, several of our promising youngsters have found exciting new homes with ambitious young riders- we look forward greatly to following their paths to, hopefully, much success in the future! SPS Bella Carmina's much admired Champion filly by IFS Dancier-Hollingrove Dami- has been retained by the stud for future competition and ET. Now a 3 yo-she has been beautifully started by Bruce Ross from Benalla and then young rider Rianna Percy, who is going to campaign her for us in the new year in firstly some showing, then dressage later. She is looking extra special under saddle already, with only a few weeks work under her belt but loving the work and attention! She is now having a well deserved rest back at home with some free jumping training thrown in occasionally in preparation for her Hanoverian Mare Performance test next year.

Our first foal for the season has arrived safely this week (27/09/16) - a super ,upstanding black colt with plenty of bling and big soft paces sired by 3 time world champion Sezuan from our imported Ampere mare Amaris-who 2 years ago gave us our top award winning filly foal HG Felicity. Already, HG Ferrari exudes that rare showstopping presence that we saw in HG Dazzler who won the Hanoverian Foal Championship in 2011. Our next foal by IFS For Romance/Don Ramiro is due early November-a 1/2 sibling to HG Saffron-so should also be a bit special! We then have a break to early January when we have another 2 very interesting foals coming- SPS Bella Carmina's imported GRP Noble Dancer's foal- could we get palamino ? Here's hoping! The other foal is an embryo transfer foal by popular IFS Finest from the Floriscount/Sunny Boy competition mare HB Florissa.
December 2015
After a quiet few months, following the AWHA and Hanoverian Tours, there did not seem a lot to report, then, suddenly we are in December and there is a lot to update.
Yes, to those rumours, or those that do not already know, Hollingrove Stud will be relocating to the other side of Warragul, near Lardner, in a few years time. Unfortunately this beautiful property is earmarked by the council for development for housing, so it is not possible to stand in the way of progress . However, we have plenty of time to set the new property up to a similar standard so that we will not have to tolerate building and landworks on our boundaries for too long.
Our 4 2014 foals were weaned in May without a fuss and Hollingrove Sissi (Swarovski/EM Lady de Luxe imp) made her journey safely to her new owner Britta Waddell in New Zealand. 3 yo.HG Don Quixote ( Don Dancier/SPS Bella Carmina imp) made the long trip to his new home with Alecia Brimson in the Northern Territory without incident and has recently been started under saddle in Queensland- from all reports and the photo sent-doing extremely well and moving beautifully already.

We flew to Germany early in July this year so that we could watch our Destano/Sandro Hit/ Rubinstein filly compete at a regional show at Elmlohe as part of her qualification for her Elite Hanoverian mare status. We were delighted that she actually won her 3yo class at the show and was then invited to compete at the Hewart von der Decken Mare Championship in Verden- it was a great honour! I was also able to fulfil my wish to ride in Germany by having a ride on our recently backed filly the day after the show and was very impressed at how well she had been started and how nice she was to ride! Plans are for her to continue her ridden career in Germany at this stage.

The remainder of our holiday was divided between horse shows, auctions, foal selections, visiting horsy friends and studs and sightseeing-all very enjoyable-a great mix- Hagen CDI, Lienen Foal and Mare Championships, Rastede, Oldenburg Foal selections at PSI, Hanoverian Riding Horse Auction, Dresurpferde Leistungszentrum Lodbergen, Gestut WM, Mt St John, Woodlander Stud, catching up with our breeder friends Bernhard, Josef, Kurt and Ingrid and finally enjoying the great beauty of Lake Como, Prague and the Yorkshire countryside. Truly a fabulous, balanced holiday!
Spring then arrived at Hollingrove with plenty of cute calves being born by our Speckle Park bull Showstopper. A brief break then our first foal arrived- a beautiful dark brown Furstenball/ HG Dreamtime filly – very true to Furstenball type with size, movement and a delightful friendly, relaxed personality. Anxiuosly we awaited the birth of our next foal- an ET Furstenball from the glorious young mare we tragically lost- EMC Dream of Romance (imp/dec) and she is all we could have wished- refined, elegant and feminine and a beautiful mover. She will be a keeper for sure!

So far this breeding season we have Amaris (imp) in foal to Sezuan, HG Fallon in foal to For Romance, hopefully SPS Bella Carmina in foal to Sezuan, HG Contiki to Furstenball and Santa Fe (imp) in foal to Noble Dancer.
We look forward to the coming competition months to see many of the young Hollingrove bred horses that we have sold out competing, some, perhaps at DWTS.
4 yo. Hollingrove San Amore (San Amour/SPS Bella Carmina) and Sidney Hoffman are entered for their first competition at the Boneo CDI later in January and we wish them the best of luck on their debut.
We welcome Tabatha Moroney into the circle of Hollingrove bred horse owners with her recent purchase of the exquisite HG Felicity and wish her the very best for their future together.
February 2015

2014 seems to have flown past at Hollingrove, with lots of sales of young horses to wonderful homes, four beautiful and healthy foals arriving safely and some equally exciting foals expected later in the year.
Our young Hanoverian Destano/ Sandro Hit/Rubinstein filly still in Germany is now a rising 3yo, looking super on video, and in February, will start to be prepared for assessment, mare shows and performance testing. We are planning a trip to Europe this year to coincide with some shows, as well as to catch up with our fellow breeding enthusiast friends. See a video of her HERE
On the competition scene, it is very exciting to see some very talented young Hollingrove horses now out and competing very successfully both in the dressage and show rings, most recently at the Dressage Festival, and we look forward to DWTS , especially with HG Rosewood, if she can maintain her winning form ! Another HG top performer EBL (HG) Sorrento has been dividing his time between dressage and the Show Hunter ring where he has notched up numerous wins and qualified to the Grand Nationals in Sydney later this year. Hollingrove DeeDee also impressed with a placing at the Dressage Festival, and we look forward to Hollingrove Flashdance competing with his new owner Michael Baker very soon.

We are receiving some wonderful feedback from happy owners of young Hollingrove horses that are now being started under saddle and shaping up very nicely – HG Roxanna, HG Saffron, HG Dazzler, HG Royal Dream, HG Furstin Lulu, HG Feliciano and HG Shogun to name a few, and we eagerly await their arrival on the competition scene.
